SB Loves: Leather Peplum

It seems as if peplum began its moment with Michelle William’s Louis Vitton Oscars gown last spring. It’s as if we collectively remembered this very lady-like yet wearable silhouette and said why, yes. I think I will.

Now we’re seeing scads of leather peplum tops, dresses and jackets and I must say I like it a lot. Turns out leather and peplum go together like Sonny and Cher, chocolate and peanut butter, chips and dip, peas and carrots, Ernie and Bert, salt and pepper, Salt-n-Pepa, Lavern and Shirley, Oscar and Felix, Jack and Jill. OK, I’ll stop. Gin and tonic. Vodka and soda. Whisky and Coke. I’ll really stop.

The leather (or vegan leather) toughens up an otherwise sweet cut and vice versa ending up in a warm, layerable, cool looking fall/winter top that’s Breakfast at Tiffanys meets Rebel without a Cause.
